
Mateusz Ławniczak has been involved in classical, early, folk and experimental music for many years. He is one of the few musicians who specialises in both singing and playing the lute, which, combined with his English education, resulted in the Shakespeare Songs programme, with which the artist has performed at many renowned festivals in Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Serbia, Germany, Spain and Great Britain. Mateusz is also a long-time member of the Jacaras ensemble led by Prof. Piotr Zaleski (Wroclaw Academy of Music) and regularly participates in various music projects.
Mateusz Ławniczak made his debut with a solo Shakespeare programme in 2016, appearing on Radio Wrocław, Wrocław Television, TVP Kultura, Radio Dwójka and other media related to classical music. Soon appeared invitations to festivals such as Maj z Muzyką Dawną, Zamkowe Kameralia, Piotr of Grudziądz Festival, International Festival in Tytuvenai (Lithuania), M.K. Ciurlionis Museum (Lithuania) and Viljandi Early Music Festival in Estonia. Musician ended 2017 with a short performance at the Polish-German Guitar Days in Frankfurt and in the same year was awarded at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival for "a noble approximation of the music of the Elizabethan era". The following months resulted in performances at festivals such as Polish Guitar Academy led by the world-famous guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski, or Postojna International Guitar Festival in Slovenia. In February 2020, at the personal invitation of Prof. Jerzy Limon - director of the Shakespeare Theatre in Gdańsk - the artist presented his work at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The year 2021 was primarily a performance at the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin as part of the Spring Guitar Concerts and a concert for the Vrnjci International Classical Music Festival in Serbia. The following years brought performances at Kłodzko Gitariada, Mikołaj z Radomia Early Music Festival and finally a performance for the London Lute Society in Great Britain.
Mateusz Ławniczak is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Wrocław in the guitar class of prof. Piotr Zaleski and Waldemar Gromolak. At the same time, he pursued studies at the Institute of English Philology in Wrocław. During his music studies, he participated in numerous international workshops and master classes, improving his skills under the supervision of such teachers as Łukasz Kuropaczewski, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic as well as musicians associated with the world of early music such as Paul O’Dette, Jakob Lindberg and Rolf Lislevand. In 2012, the artist became a finalist of the international guitar festival in Rust (Austria). During his studies, Mateusz Ławniczak joined the Jacaras ensemble led by prof. Piotr Zaleski - a guitar lecturer at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. The Jacaras ensemble has performed at most guitar festivals in Poland and receives invitations to important foreign events every year (Germany, Spain, Estonia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Mexico). Mateusz Ławniczak also works as a teacher on a daily basis and has been associated with the Fryderyk Chopin General Music School No. 2 in Wrocław for a dozen or so years.
